About
Like any firearms enthusiast, I love upgrading parts and pieces of my equipment. Unfortunately, the price tags on those upgrades usually make me cringe. I frequently find myself thinking, "why would I pay that much for something I could probably make myself?"
The other problem I frequently had was that many of the upgrades I wanted had not been invented yet. So I started tinkering using my limited high school knowledge of AutoCAD. Once I designed something I was happy with, I used online 3D printing services, like Shapeways to print them off, but this was a slow and expensive process.
Eventually I got myself a little hobby 3D printer and started printing my own projects. After making many of my own upgrades, my brother, Spencer, and good friend, Brady, jokingly referred to my tinkering projects as "Cheapskate Precision." Realizing that their joke name was surprisingly fitting for what I was doing, I decided to embrace it.
I now make many of my own upgrades under the "Cheapskate Precision" name and offer them to anybody else who is interested in upgrading, but doesn't want to spend a fortune to do it. I love tinkering and coming up with new ideas, so if you have an idea for an upgrade, but don't know how to make it happen, let me know and I'll see what I can do!
